"54% of Voters Oppose the Health Care Plan"

So why are these people so fucking proud of themselves?
I don't care what people or other media say (1), this is not a "health care reform bill," it's a (really expensive) health insurance bill. It doesn't matter whether you have medicare or private coverage. Insurance does not equal actual health care (Nor quality of care either).

You claim to have some background in psychology and science, yet your title is a rather emphatic and dubious conclusion based on a source that provides absolutely no information regarding the methodology employed. There is nothing easier in the world than to obtain a skewed polling result based simply upon the wording of a question. Yet, we do not know what questions were asked, the order in which they were asked, etc. From what I can see from their site Rasmussen is about as objective as Fox News and leans in the same direction."

From realclearpolitics (1). You'll notice ALL of the polls show lack of support. Douche.

Update Too:

Methodology located at the bottom of the article page (2) "This national telephone survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted by Rasmussen Reports March 19-20, 2010. The margin of sampling error for the survey is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence (see methodology)."

Amazingly, this right-wing whack job website also lists the questions and the order in which they were asked too (3).

Who exactly is reporting objective news Mr "Anonymous" and how do you know? Maybe MSNBC? The NY Times? The bottom line regardless is this is the Federal Govt. again expanding its role and mandating individuals partake in a transaction to obtain health insurance mostly from private providers. It has no right to do such a thing. FDR said Social Security would be self sustaining and they said the same thing about Medicare. No one believes that anymore. Who could be stupid enough to buy into yet another intrusive Govt. program as being a cost savings. I will practice another 10 years tops and quit and I look to move out of this country before it caves in on itself. I hope there is time and I can find some place to flee to....

...and I wasn't arguing that the people should get what they want. I meant to imply thay these people might soon be out of a job.

I'll probably be doing a post on this bill. Not soon, though, since it's longer than the bible. Plus, Obama et al. forgot (again) to post the bill online 5 days before signing it into law.

But at least I can go onto data.gov and read all about the goings ons with the Department of the Interior =)

"THE PEOPLE" have no idea what they're opposing. They're watching the news and hearing the blast reports about bricks being thrown and public officials vomiting the drivel the health care lobby told them to espouse. The American public are responding to news reports. I don't know how anyone can argue with eliminating the "pre-existing" condition phenomena (which can also include pregnancy for some insurance contracts).

I have no idea why everyone is defending the insurance companies who have been raping consumers' wallets for years and padding the pockets of politicians to keep antitrust laws from applying to them (thankfully, no more).

Did you READ the questions asked in the survey? They are entirely general and in no way ask about the specifics of the plan. Yes, the cost of health care may go up if you earn over 250k. Where does the majority of America fall in the tax bracket? The questions read like the talking points of a Republican Senator at a press conference.

Who the fuck cares whether 54% of "voters" opposed the bill? Haven't you noticed how many dumb asses live in America?

Anonymous, so true since my country voted Bush into office twice. I was not one of those folks.

I very reluctantly supported this bill because it is better than the status quo. But that is kind of like saying Prozac is better than Zyprexa.
